The day I found
out I was pregnant; I was just sitting on a bench downtown, wondering
what to do. Someone handed me a clinic flyer..
The first time
I came to the clinic, I immediately felt at home because it is small and
friendly. I’ve come here for two pregnancies because everyone
knows and cares about me and my babies.

When you’re 16 and
pregnant, you can feel very ashamed. The staff at the clinic took
really good care of me and did not make me feel embarrassed. I
learned how to take care of my baby and about all the resources that are
available to teen moms. Now, I am back in school and will be
graduating soon.

Even though I
already have four children, this last pregnancy was really hard because
I was having problems with my husband. He was drinking too much
and always mad because he lost his job. The social worker helped
him get help through their program for men and I think we’re going to
make it.
